Wild About Racing This is a wonderful account by Derek Wild of…
We are delighted to announce the addition of two new Trustees, Gregor Barr and Michael Deans, to The Jim Clark Trust. Their diverse expertise and passion for our cause will undoubtedly enrich our organisation and contribute to our continued success. We are excited to welcome them on board and look forward to their valuable contributions, they have both been active volunteers in recent years so have a good grounding about how the Trust operates, runs events and promotes the legacy of Jim Clark.
Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Gregor and Michael as they embark on this new journey with us.
Gregor Barr:
Gregor, a local farmer, brings a wealth of experience and a deep personal connection to the Trust as the husband of Sally, Jim Clark’s great-niece. His passion for family, rugby and historical Formula 1 makes him a valuable addition to our team. We are excited to have Gregor on board and look forward to the contributions he will make to The Jim Clark Trust
Michael Deans:
It is fair to say that Michael has been around cars and motorsport all of his life, his late father Ian Deans worked for Jock McBain and was part of the Border Reivers team that looked after the Porsche, D-Type and Lister Jaguars in Jim Clark’s early career, Michael was born 1973 the same year that his father started up his own business Tweedmouth Service Station, so growing up from an early age he spent nearly all of his spare time around the garage doing various jobs until leaving school in 1989 to take up an apprenticeship in the workshop, a move into car sales in 1996 and then taking over the running of the business along with his sister Karen in 2014.
Michael started out competing in Ministox in 1987 and then moved up into Stock Rod class in 1989 until 1994, he then joined Berwick & District Motor Club originally as a competitor and in later years has held the position of Vice Chairman, Chairman and Competition Secretary.
