The Jim Clark Trust are delighted to announce that on Monday the 5th of September the stage 2 winner of the AJ Bell Tour of Britain 2022 will be crowned in the shadow of the Jim Clark Motorsport Museum, which celebrates the life and legacy of Jim Clark.

The Jim Clark Motorsport Museum, Duns, Scottish Borders

The Scottish Borders will host a full stage for the second time in three editions on day two of this year’s race. Hawick, famous for its knitwear and the first whisky distillery to open in the region since 1837, will be the starting point of stage two. The race’s eighth visit to the Borders will feature a mix of roads old and new to the event, before a first-ever finish in Duns.

Every year some of the world’s top riders and teams come to the UK to compete in the Tour of Britain. There are 20 teams that will compete in the 2022 Tour. On each team there are six riders – that’s 120 professionals on the start line of the opening stage. World champions, Tour de France winners and Olympians have all competed in the Tour of Britain over the years. This includes the likes of Sir Bradley Wiggins, Chris Froome, Mark Cavendish, Geraint Thomas.

The ‘Tour Village’ will be situated at the finish area, filled with lots of stalls and exhibits from Tour of Britain’s official partners and local businesses – offering a range of cycling products to buy, free giveaways, food, drink and more! You will also be able to watch the battle for the stage win and see first-hand who crosses the finish line ahead.

There will then be a presentation ceremony where you can watch the stage winner be presented with their winner’s prize.

Additionally, you’ll see the current race leader in the general classification. This is the rider who has taken the lowest cumulative time to complete the stages so far – and will wear a special jersey. Often this leader will change throughout the week of racing. You’ll also see the sprints, King of the Mountains and other jerseys presented here.

We are honoured to be a featured location in such a prestigious event. Why not enjoy a day out and watch the excitement unfold!

Thank you for your support.
