There is a biographical section covering around 100 Scots who have triumphed in International racing with feature-length biographies of some of Scotland’s best drivers like Jim Clark, Jackie Stewart, Ron Flockhart, Innes Ireland, Johnny Dumfries, Allan McNish, David Coulthard and Dario Franchitti.

Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, in 1934, trained as a journalist. After National Service in the Royal Air Force, joined the weekly Motor World magazine as Sports Editor and later Editor. In 1993 moved to Hong Kong and was editor of ChinaCar, the first motoring magazine for mainland China, before returning to Europe.

He has always been closely involved with motor sport. He was a close personal friend of the great Jim Clark and is Clark’s biographer but is also the biographer of the Scottish international rally driver Andrew Cowan, racing drivers, Reg Parnell, Cliff Allison and Jack Sears as well as racing car designer John Tojeiro. Other books include, Ecurie Ecosse and Modena Racing Memories – a record of his visits to Ferrari, Maserati, OSCA and Stanguellini from 1957 – 1963 and Scottish Motor Racing and Drivers the major history of Scotland’s involvement in motor racing. His most recent book is Ferrari Gauld Mine, a soft cover compendium of his quirky columns in Prancing Horse, the magazine of the Ferrari Club of America.

In 1982 he joined his colleague Hugh McCaig in the running of the Ingliston motor racing circuit near Edinburgh and they organised and ran motor racing in Scotland for the next ten seasons.
With Hugh McCaig he reformed the famous motor racing team Ecurie Ecosse, which competed in the World Sports Car Championship from 1984-1990 and won the Group C2 World Championship in 1986 . and later wrote the definitive book on Ecurie Ecosse and their successes.

Graham Gauld is a member of the British Racing Drivers Club following eleven years on the RAC Race Committee and five years on the FIA Historic Commission.
