Ecurie Ecosse from Edinburgh, Scotland, epitomised the spirit of motor racing in the 1950’s winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1956 and 1957. The Ecurie Ecosse team transporter is one of most instantly recognizable in all of motorsport history, carrying three race cars and the team, built by Falkirk’s Walter Alexander coachworks on the chassis of a seven-ton Commer truck.

It was a young Jim Clark who as boy was inspired by Ecurie Ecosse seeing the team testing at Winfield Circuit close to his home in the Scottish Borders; and he went on to race for the team at Charterhall and Goodwood in a Lotus Elite and Tojeiro Jaguar.
